“Linda was knowledgeable and connected with some local characters.”

My company (Triangle Electric Co.) hired Feet on the Street Tours in the Fall of 2016. They provided exactly the experience we were looking for.  Our colleagues got to see a side of Detroit that would have been unavailable to them on their own… We were hosting a conference for 34 companies and approximately 110 attendees from around the U.S. Many of our attendees had heard the story of Detroit from afar and wanted to see the City up close. Linda was knowledgeable and connected with some local characters.  Our group felt they learned a lot and had fun as well. We did two separate and different tours and both were well reviewed. I can recommend Linda Yellin and Feet on the Street tours without reservation.

“…the group was inspired to start singing Motown hits.”

I strongly encourage any group, no matter what their age, to take a tour with Feet on the Street Tours. They will leave satisfied and wanting more!! Linda thoughtfully planned an exciting “Day in Detroit” for a diverse group of college students, most of whom were not from Michigan, who were at the university for a summer seminar. Linda was able to provide a tour that gave the students insight on our vibrant city… highlighting Eastern Market, the riverfront, Detroit’s architecture and capped it off with Coney dogs for lunch — a brand new taste experience for them! The neat thing about the Eastern Market tour is that she primed the sellers at booths and shops that we were coming so they were ready for us and addressed our group directly. At the end of the tour, as we made our way in our bus down Woodward to our final destination, the Charles Wright Museum, the group was inspired to start singing Motown hits. The responses we got back after the event from our students were very positive as well and we plan to repeat this event again next summer. And best of all, they left wanting to come back to Detroit and visit on their own, which many did later that summer.

Fifth grade mural tour – Burton Elementary School

I booked a Feet on the Street tour of the Eastern Market Murals as a field trip for my group of 90 fifth graders to get them excited for their own mural project. Linda & Becky collaborated with me to create a customized tour to meet our goals for the trip. The tour they planned included a wide variety of murals and was educational, interactive and fun… At each stop, Linda and Becky told the group about the artist, the mural and its connection to the city of Detroit and/or the mural community. They also asked students to share their thoughts and ideas on each mural. Linda and Becky are clearly well known and liked; at several points during the tour, members of the community stopped to chat and share stories with our group. Their expert planning allowed us to see a variety of murals without feeling rushed. Their communication throughout the process was excellent; they were friendly and truly a pleasure to work with.

I recommend her with 5 STARS!

My 50 + program group of seniors from Waterford Parks and Recreation can’t get enough of Linda Yellin’s Detroit tours, they are always a sellout. From historic neighborhoods, churches, Eastern Market, architecture, arts, the Riverfront, and more, Linda does it all… She creates the tour experiences, makes the arrangements, narrates and guides the diverse tours around the city, knowing the unique spots to visit. The tours are fun, packed with history and information including the good, the challenged and the new areas of revitalization, plus lunch at a wonderful Detroit restaurant. I recommend her with 5 STARS!

Extraordinary Downtown Walking Tour

Together with Linda & Marie we experienced, explored and enjoyed Detroit. This tour is a MUST DO when living in the Detroit area! We are a group of women from all over the world, living in the area (the Birmingham Bloomfield Newcomers Group) … We got information about Antoine de La Mothe Cadillac, the founder of Detroit. Impressive buildings designed by famous architects like Albert Kahn were on our way to the Guardian Building with its beautiful interior design. We looked around Campus Martius, a place to relax and enjoy. We learned about “The Spirit of Detroit” and Joe Louis’ fist. Because it started to rain we used the People Mover and had only a little stop in the Z Garage and The Belt with its Street Art.
