Come Experience the winter delights of Eastern Market in January, February, and March! Warm your heart and your tummy as we enjoy the festive atmosphere of the Market during the winter months.
Delish Detroit (the culinary tour side of our business) will stroll from shed to shed and visit specialty stores to learn about unique products, fun facts and history of the area, while going behind the scenes and sampling various foods. Enjoy locally produced pizza, popcorn, pickles and pastries; specialty sausages and cheeses; authentic spinach pies and spreads. We'll get to know local growers and vendors while we eat our way through the Market with seasonal nibbles and treats, including hot foods and soups to keep us warm. We'll also visit an art collective or a letterpress shop. Bundle up for the weather but wear layers; we will be inside several shops and in the heated market sheds on our tour, as well as walking outdoors part of the time.
We are pleased to be donating $1 from the sale of each of our Eastern Market Tour tickets to Gleaners Community Food Bank of Southeastern Michigan! Every dollar buys 3 meals for struggling families in our local community.

These workshops are bus tour/continuing education programs where participants will step out of a "classroom" and onto a bus to visit sites and hear from presenters who will address issues facing Detroit and the Metropolitan Region. Through these experiential learning opportunities, participants will learn more about critical and current issues, such as: food issues, diversity, ethnic and cultural traditions, land use, transportation, area history, local programs and services, blight removal and rehab efforts. Please note, these programs are open to anyone interested in the topic.
